Still, amid the prison environment that can suck your soul dry, there also have been some wonderful moments.
I learned very quickly in prison that a person's worth in the sight of God is not measured by what he or she has done, but by their very nature, as His children.
The culture and environment within the prison very much reminds me of the last days recorded in the Book of Mormon (circa 421 A.D., in Pre-Columbian America), wherein both Nephite and Lamanite societies degenerated beyond redemption.
The prison environment just is a more intense version of our current culture here in America, and I have learned much in prison about personal accountability and the multi-generational consequences of choices.
